Press Box: IND @ NE (Pregame)

Week 5 of the NFL regular season is upon us as the Indianapolis Colts will renew their rivalry with the New England Patriots (The Empire) at 8:20 ET in Gillette Stadium. It's the ole veteran Bill Belichick vs. first year coach Frank Reich, Tom Brady vs. Andrew Luck. The last time these two AFC foes met, New England bested the Colts 34-27 in Lucas Oil Stadium back in the 2015 regular season. But it's 2018 which means new season, new teams, and new expectations. But there is one thing that still remains: Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. A duo that has delivered the Colts more than their share of blowouts and playoff/regular season embarrassments over the past 15+ years. Let's get to the facts- the Patriots defense has been questionable at best this year with virtually no pass rush and a weak secondary. Last week, however, was much improved basically shutting out the much hyped Dolphins while allowing only 7 points. Offensively, it has been a struggle so far as well with only 3 active wide receivers (one being Cordarrelle Patterson) for the first 3 games and the lack of an effective rushing attack. But this week marks the beginning of a new Patriots juggernaut team. Josh Gordon is becoming more active in that pass-heavy offense and you know Josh McDaniels has some tricks up his sleeve to get him involved. Another noteworthy addition to the offense is the return of Julian Edelman who is coming off of a 4-game suspension for the (alleged) use of PED's. Brady has his favorite weapon back on the field and when you combine that with the likes of James White and Sony Michel in the backfield (and let's not forget about Gronk), it creates a much more formidable attack for the rest of the AFC. As for the Colts, well........they just flat out suck. Not much to praise with this team. Lackluster defense, a pedestrian offense, an Andrew Luck that still looks like he has issues with his shoulder. It's the whole package here and it looks like a bad season in Indianapolis is about to get a lot fucking worse. Maybe they'll come out in some color rush uniforms that will make them look better, who knows.

What Will Happen: The Patriots will come out sluggish but eventually get that offense clicking. Brady will hook up with James White, Julian Edelman, and Rob Gronkowski in the end-zone eclipsing the 500 Career Passing TD mark while Michel adds 100+ on the ground. Nothing to see here folks, Colts 19 Patriots 41

Smash the OVER (50) and NE (-10.5)

BigCrotch- I think it's reasonable that Gronk will have success against that depleted IND secondary. PREDICTION- 6 catches for 75 yards 0 TD
