Alright everybody, you know what this is and what we do. I’m too tired for an actual intro. Let’s get into it.
Saints @ Vikings
Saints EVEN
This game is the matchup of week 8 and it embodies what the NFL should be about. Two well rounded teams that have different strengths but can do it all. The Saints offense is top 5 in the league and the Vikings D is just about the same on the other side of the ball. The Vikings have weapons galore and an above average quarterback that has the perfect system built around him, but the Saints have noted good guy Drew Brees. Drew is the model for an NFL quarterback on and off the field. Since he’s a family man he knows how to spread the love, and that’s exactly what he does with that offense. Sunday night looks to be cold and wet up in the twin cities and the veteran will be able to handle it just a little bit better than ole kirk. Plus that two headed monster the Saints have in the backfield gives them the edge. Also if the weather looks bad come Sunday take the under (53), but if it holds off I’d stay far away from betting on that. Yes, I know the Vikings play indoors, but it still matters.
FIU @ Western Kentucky
FIU -3.5
The Golden Panthers got an interesting line in this one. I get that they are on the road but if you at the east standings in Conference USA something kind of jumps out. FIU(5-2) in first place, and the Hilltoppers round out the bottom of the division at 1-6. FIU beat Old Dominion, and Western Kentucky lost to Old Dominion. In an age of stats and sabermetrics, some of the obvious numbers get lost in the shuffle. You are what your record says you are, unless you’re Ole Miss, and I think that tells the story in this one. Also FIU is 5-1 ATS this year. Keep it simple, FIU is the pick.
Kansas St. @ 8 Oklahoma
Over 64
Battle of some interesting teams against the over this year. The Sooners are 6-1 whereas K State is 2-5. Something has to give here, and I don’t think it’s Oklahoma’s offense. That fucking shortstop they got taking snaps is a BALLER. That kid can flat out play. After the tough loss against rival Texas the Sooners are on a mission to see them again in the BIG12 championship. I don’t think the Wildcats have a shot to slow these guys down, and Oklahoma’s defense is in turmoil after firing Mike Stoops. Plus it’s the BIG12. Hasn’t been a good defensive showing there since… uh…. Yikes. POINTS POINTS POINTS in this one. Also Sooners -30 is interesting. I could 56-17 being the final in Norman so I think I just talked myself into that one. Hell take that too. But the over is a LOCK. Boomer Fucking Sooner.
ANTI LOCK ALERT
Bama Championship -250
Look. I know Saban’s boys are the best team in the country, but they only have to lose one game against a top 4 team if they make the playoff, plus they’ve got 2 top 8 teams left on their schedule and one loss there might be enough to keep them out if the cookie crumbles the right way in the rest of the country. Also the odds are brutal. If you can a bet for the field against Bama, take it. If your odds are better that +100. I’m not saying they won’t win, but those odds suck ass and a lot can happen when at least 4 of 7 games they need to win are against the best teams in the country. If they lose before the playoff and get in, take them at any odds. They only lose once a year, that’s a fact.
Now for Doorman’s Eternal Lock. For anyone who missed the game out in India. He picked some Cricket Championship correctly so we decided to keep him on the segment.
Badminton: Yonex French Open Women Doubles
Zheng/Li vs. Matsutomo/Takahashi
Matsutomo/Takahashi -500 AND the OVER (76.5)
Interesting match here over in France as the Chinese studs take on the Japanese superstars on Centre Court. If you have not been keeping up with the action, here’s a quick breakdown. This duo of Wenmei Li and youngster Yu Zheng have been incredible thus far. Li’s exceptional timing combined with Zheng’s famed accuracy have been picking other competitors apart. The duo is ranked inside the top 5 for break points and is among the top 10 in defensive efficiency ranks. The action will heat up for them as Misaki Matsutomo and Ayaka Takahashi challenge them for the crown. This match will take place on Centre Court and we all know the Japanese are on another level under the lights. This one will open with the Chinese taking the first few points but a quick timeout and some angle adjustments will change the nature of this match for the Japs. Takahashi will be quick off the serve and Matsutomo as the second line of defense will sway this one in their favor. We’d all love to see the Chinese take this one and face off against the spunky Swedes but today won’t be the day. Not a good pick but a GREAT pick. This one will print money.
Great stuff yet again, couldn’t ask for more. This week I really got back to the roots of this article, American Football. It’s why fall is the best time of year and you CANNOT change my about that. Go out throw some money around folks. If all your bets tank this weekend, try and win it all back on the Monday night game, parlay Pats +14.5 AND over 44.5. Not a lock just a chance to win back all the money you lost cause you didn’t place my locks. Good luck to everyone’s teams this weekend. Unless you’re a Notre Dame fan. Then you can fuck yourself.
