As the first installation of this hit series, I think a little introduction is necessary. Most of my weekends are defined by a few moments or decisions that… for lack of a better term, bend me over a kitchen table. This series will be an exploration of those moments.
The thing about this weekend that really stands out is that it started on Tuesday. No I did not have days off from class or responsibilities, I just neglected them for 100+ hours.
This complete and utter failure to be a respectable human being was just a perfect storm of timing and character flaws. Monday was friends birthday, but we all had jammed packed Tuesdays so we decided to postpone the festivities unitil the following night, and boy were there festivities had that evening. After a long day that ended at about 2pm, I abused my body for the next 10 hours which led to a lost day on Wednesday. Thursday I didn’t have any major responsibilities so I went golfing. Thursday night I watched the USofA get thoroughly demoralized on a golf course until 5am, hence the lack of productivity on Friday. The weekend that followed was a standard home game weekend that left me an empty shell of myself on Sunday. Thus concluding 5-6 days of being human trash.
Things I Regret
Friday morning class is the one that really gets me. I had 4-6 hours the night prior to do the required homework and it just didn’t happen.
Things I Can Live With
Everything else can be chalked up to having the work ethic of a sloth on Xanax, and I’ll work on that sometime in my mid to late 40s.
This concludes week one. I’ll get back to you next weekend. Hopefully one that starts on Friday.
