Understanding the Youth

This is the first installment of a new segment where we seek to understand the “hip” new vocabulary of tomorrow’s great world leaders. Each week will feature three randomly chosen terms from Urban Dictionary. This website offers a window into the mind of the youth. While we will never understand everything, we must strive to learn what we can.

Here are the words of the week:

Canadian Competition

The act of challenging someone to a bigger act of kindness war.

My roommate challenged me to a Canadian competition, he did my dishes so I cleaned his room and did his laundry. I win, for now.

Flippin Chickens

Dealing or slinging coke or drugs

He is still flippin chickens on the corner

Gnarly

Gnarly is when you've gone beyond radical, beyond extreme, it's balls out danger, & or perfection, & or skill or all of that combined.

-Nobody can shred like that guy, he's gnarly. -That chick has prefect tits, she's gnarly. -Pipeline in the winter is GNARLY!

In the words of the late great Vince Lombardi, “Practice does not make perfect. Only perfect practice makes perfect.” So go out there and use what you’ve learned to connect with the minds of the youth.
