This week we have a special edition of locks. I will be giving you a pick for every top 25 team in college football, either spread or O/U. Let’s get into it.
23 USF @ Tulsa
USF -7.5
South Florida scores POINTS. This offense led by 6’ 5’’ Blake Barnett Rolls has beaten two Power Five teams, granted they were Illinois and Georgia Tech. Tulsa is a bad 1-4. Nothing like the year that Ole Miss was a title contender at 1-4. If USF’s defense shows up for about 2 drives this one is in the bag.
Minnesota @ 3 Ohio St.
Over 59
Feel real good about this one. Haskins and Ohio St are scoring at least 50 in the Horseshoe and Minnesota hung 31 on Iowa last week, and still lost by 17. Brutus and the Buckeyes might cover the over by themselves but Minnesota will probably put up a couple tuddies late.
14 Florida @ Vanderbilt
Under 51
Both of these teams are best on the defensive side of the ball and Florida sucks. Nothing personal but they just haven’t scored more than 4 points in a quarter in 13 years. *Editor’s note: This is so incredibly wrong…..they scored a touchdown twice* Vanderbilt is a sneaky linebacker factory. The final of this one seems like a 24-10 type deal. So smash that fucking under.
Tennessee @ 21 Auburn
Auburn -16.5
Tennessee lost to WVU 14-40, Florida 21-47, and Georgia 12-38. Notice anything? Yes, that Tennessee is not quite in the natty conversation. ALL OF THEIR LOSSES ARE BY 26 POINTS.
This is some government shit. By government I obviously mean Paul Finebaum. The president of the SEC. Easy money. Auburn 29-3.
Pittsburgh @ 5 Notre Dame
ND -21
I hate this line. For one thing, whole number lines are a massive cop out by vegas. Ponzi scheme doesn’t even begin to describe this. *This is in no way a ponzi scheme. Pittsburgh is a weird fucking team. Notre Dame is just too hot right now for pitt to keep this close. The only way pitt covers is a garbage time push.
Michigan St. @ 8 Penn St.
Michigan St. +13.5
The Spartans are having an absolute stinker of a season. But I feel like the defense shows up this week. After a beatdown from NorthFuckingWestern I think Dantonio’s secondary is able to keep McSorley in check through the air, but he gets 150 on the ground. It’s enough to win but MSU manages to keep it low scoring enough to cover.
7 Washington @ 17 Oregon
Washington -3
This pick is basically a whose going to win, and I don’t think the ducks are there yet. Washington is sneaky dope. The loss at Auburn was a neutral sight but it was in Atlanta and it was 90% Auburn fans. They are clearly the best team in the PAC-12 and if they gets through these two weeks, vs Colorado next week, they’ve got a real shot at the playoffs. Just ride the Huskies in this one.
22 Texas A&M @ South Carolina
South Carolina +3.5
I kinda buy the cocks new quarterback. Not that he’s actually good, but he is a better option than Jake Bentley. A&M is a different team at home than they are on the road. They turn into a bunch of limpdicks as soon as they leave College Station. Take the cocks 31-27.
2 Georgia @ 13 LSU
LSU +7.5
LSU will come out buzzing for the first half. The building will be rocking and I honestly think LSU could take a lead to halftime. Joe Burrows hasn’t thrown an interception that wasn’t in a desperation type of play, and he’s a gamer. I think for all the jokes about Coach O, he’s a better coach than people give him credit for. Not just an endless meme train. This game will be decided in the second half. No team will be able to put a stranglehold on this one early. Georgia pulls it out at the end of an oddly high scoring game 38-31.
Baylor @ 9 Texas
Baylor +14.5
The boys from Austin, Texas are BACK. Sort of. In my eyes, they’ve won 3 straight ranked matchups and now they have to win the trap game of the year. If they blow em out, then they are all the way back. But I’ve never seen more of a trap game than this. Ranked in the top 10 for the first time in a billion years and they’re playing Baylor. Baylor is not awful this year. They put the fear of god into Herman’s boys for 3 quarters. Texas wins, but it will not be pretty. Texas 38-27.
10 UCF @ Memphis
Over 78
Points are going up in this one. Two high powered offenses that are going to be in a close shootout. The key here is that Memphis is good enough to hang with UCF, forcing both teams to keep shooting until the final whistle. The only thing that worries me is the Memphis running game. It’s too good. That might seem like a good thing but running the ball takes up a lot of time. The more the clock stops the more they light up the board. Also I’d take action at +1000 that overtime happens. Hit me up.
16 Miami @ Virginia
Miami -7
This seems like vegas is daring you to take the hurricanes, and honestly why wouldn’t you. Virginia is the most forgotten about team in the power five. They are not good, but not bad enough to be Kansas or Rutgers. Miami is coming off a season saving comeback against in state rival FSU and I don’t see a reason the Hurricanes win this game by less than 20. So far this is the pick that I am the most sure about. The only thing Vegas is holding onto is that Virginia played Miami close each of the last two years. I say don’t think too hard about this one and take the Hurricanes. Also Miami should get an energy burst from hurricane Michael. Hard not to play for your brother in a game like this.
6 West Virginia @ Iowa St.
WVU -7
Another game that the line just seems too small for the underdog to cover. Both power 5 teams from Iowa always seem to pull off a big upset at home. I just don’t think it’s a smart move to try and pick that game when there’s money on the line. West Virginia’s offense is just too good for Iowa St to keep this close. Go Mountaineers!
Missouri @ 1 Alabama
Over 74
Alabama is the best offense in the country led by the best quarterback in the country, and it's really not even close. Missouri has no chance of keeping them under 50 points. The reason I like the over is Drew Lock and the rest of the Tiger offense. Their lowest point total this season is 29 against a strong Georgia defense. Take the over and root for a shootout. It’s gonna be close.
15 Wisconsin @ 12 Michigan
Wisconsin +8.5
This is going to be the most BIG10 game of year and wow am I looking forward to it. Hard nosed run it down your throat football is the best kind of football. This game is going to be close, and then decided by one big play. I just have to think that 8.5 is too many points. Full backs and Walmart Khakis are going to be the story of this one. I think Michigan wins in a close 4 quarter game.
19 Colorado @ USC
Colorado +7.5
I think Vegas has pitched a real stinker this week. Looks like the fucking Yankees rotation out there in the desert. Colorado is a real team. People are not giving them anywhere near enough respect, and USC is just not that good. If they want to become the USC of old they’re gonna need to start committing recruiting violations to get guys like Reggie back on that team. Right now USC is either being to careful with their violations or following the rules. Not sure which is worse in this day and age. Ride the Buffalos and take the points.
Wow this was fun. I haven’t done this much writing in years, maybe decades. Let me know what you think of the format down in the comments. Happy football everyone.
-Skipper
I don't like the picks Skipper. In fact, I LOVE THEM. Great research here especially with Tennessee. We're on the same page with this 26 point conspiracy. Finebaum in up to something. Stay woke on him and his shiny bald head.
