Since we are college students here at CBC, an important aspect of our daily lives is class. Yeah, class is the fucking worst. I'm not even sure why I still show up. I never take notes, I don't pay attention, and I sit in the back row every time so why do I even show up? In fact, this article was written in the middle of a Law class but luckily for me, the lectures are all posted online so am I really missing anything that's going on on the other side of this computer screen? Anyway, since I have been a student I have always tried to find ways to entertain myself while Mr., Mrs., or Dr. whatever is up there yapping away. Since we are about midway through the week, I thought it would be informative to share with you these ways to make class time a little better.
1. Play a video game. Last year in a large lecture I was apart of, my friend and I sat in the very back row of our class so the teacher looked like a midget. He had some kind of adapter that allowed him to connect an Xbox controller to his laptop and with this being in a time when Fortnite was hot, you know we banged out a few games. It became a nice weekly activity. I actually enjoyed attending this class because of it.
2. Set your fantasy lineup. There is no better time to pick up a few guys off the waiver wire and play around with your lineup. It is a great way to kill 20-30 minutes as you ponder who to sit or start based on matchups and look over insider information for possible injuries sustained the previous week. If you need to burn more time, plan out your defense for a matchup 2 weeks from now. Rummage through those free agents and get a step ahead of your opponents. Better to start early than try to scramble the day of.
3. Eat a meal. I just discovered this one today and I am sure as hell glad I did. My class started at 12:30 and I arrived to the room on an empty stomach around 12:15. Having 15 minutes, I dropped my backpack on a seat and decided to walk to the Chick-fil-a up the road and pick up some lunch. The line was out the door but I was determined. I got my sandwich and sweet tea with about 10 seconds until class started so some would say I was late. I rolled in only a few minutes late but my backpack was already there so it really doesn't count. My next 20 minutes consisted of enjoying a nice, crispy chicken sandwich and sipping on a delicious and refreshing sweet tea. Easy way to make time fly.
4. Play with those gel pencil grips. This is one of my personal favorites. Remember those gel grips that would come in all sorts of pretty colors? Well good news, they still make them and they feel just as nice. There's nothing quite like squeezing and stretching these pencil accessories. Its extremely satisfying and if you stretch them out enough and put your fingers on the ends, they become a suction cup. Give me one of these and I'll be good for an hour or two.
5. Have a homeade BB gun war. This one might get you in trouble but back in 5th-8th grade, it was the highlight of the day. Every religion class we would load our guns which were made of a tricked out mechanical pencil with a rubber band sling on the end and get after it. I must say many detentions/referrals were handed out because of it so there's your warning. Also pay attention to where you shoot the BB's because the last thing you want to do is hit an innocent bystander such as a girl minding her own business. A lot of good men were lost on those battlefields but what a time it was.
Take a note
